OakBend Medical Center has been recognized by the US News & World Reports 2016 Edition Best Hospitals. The hospitals listed in the magazine have worked hard to make sure that their heart disease and stroke patients get the benefits of up-to-date scientific guidelines-based treatment.
Earlier this year, while hosting its “Stepping Out Against Stroke Walk,” the hospital received the Gold Plus Performance Award for its “Get With The Guidelines®” program, which promotes consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines for stroke victims. This was the seventh year that the hospital received this recognition.
Kate Ramos, MPH, the Director, Quality and Systems Improvement for the American Heart Association remarked, “Thank you to OakBend for its dedication to following up-to-date, research-based treatment guidelines for its stroke patients. We know that when hospitals apply the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment guidelines, patient outcomes improve. And so, on behalf of the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, thank you OakBend Medical Center for contributing to our mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke!”
