OakBend Medical Group Opens Medical Office in Wharton
OakBend Medical Group has opened its first family practice office in Wharton. Located in the OakBend Medical Center – Wharton Hospital Campus, 10140 US Highway 59 Rd. the office will be in Suite 1-E.
Thomas Richey is originally from San Antonio, born on Ragland Military Base to Dr L. E Richey and Dawn Richey, both of whom were in the medical field. He lived in and grew up in the medical field with his parents and was taught a strong work and professional ethic.
Richey graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Chiropractic College as a Doctor of Chiropractic with a BS degree in human biology. He also has certifications in acupuncture and sports injury. Thomas decided to return to academia and received his bachelor’s in nursing from Hardin Simmons University and master’s in nursing from Samford University graduating at the top of his class. He is also trained in ultrasound guided injections and pain management.
“I have been in and worked in the medical field for most of my life,” stated Richey. “I work alongside my patients and other colleagues to provide the best care and outcomes. I am looking forward to working and establishing my primary practice in the area. I enjoy making connections with the community; working to become closer to them and be considered part of their families.” Thomas will provide an array of services to include DOT physicals, family practice medicine for all ages, pain management, acupuncture and in hospital medicine.
Richey has lived in the Fort Bend County area for 40 years. His wife and family and her family are from the area. He is a father of three sons and one daughter and has one granddaughter. He is an avid fan of baseball, outdoors, hunting, and martial arts. He speaks English and Spanish.
