OakBend Medical Group Welcomes New Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Karomibal Mejia
Dr. Karomibal Mejia has joined OakBend Medical Group as an interventional cardiologist. Dr. Mejia received his medical education with honors, graduated Cum Laude in the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. He then came to the United States and completed his internal Medicine Residency at Bronxcare Health System in New York, where he also served as chief resident.
This was followed by subsequent training in cardiovascular disease at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s hospital where he again served as a chief cardiology fellow, followed by an extra year of interventional and endovascular disease fellowship at both Mount Sinai St Luke’s and Beth Israel Hospitals in New York City.
Dr. Mejia is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as sub-division of clinical cardiology. He is also certified in Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and is a Registered Physician in vascular ultrasound interpretation. He speaks English and Spanish. He enjoys spending time with his family, specially his eight-month old son, friends, reading, baseball, basketball, traveling and exploring.
