 Volunteers are Priceless Treasurers

RICHMOND, TX - (April 25, 2007) - OakBend Medical Center held its 2007 Volunteer Appreciation Brunch on Saturday, April 21st
at Pecan Grove Country Club. The theme for appreciation week this year
was, Volunteers are Priceless Treasures and the week of festivities
ended with the brunch and the installation of new officers.
Jeff
Council, President of the Board of Directors, and Tracey Shaw, VP
Marketing & Development personally thanked each volunteer for the
hours they contributed to OakBend Medical Center and for making the
hospital a better place. In 2006/07 the hospital auxiliary served
16,395 volunteer hours. The current active roster of volunteers at
OakBend Medical Center represents over 151,000 volunteer hours.
Carolyn
Todish, Auxiliary President, presented Jeff Council & Tracey Shaw
with a donation of $56,000 on behalf of the auxiliary. These funds
were raised by the auxiliary members through various fundraising
efforts including the hospital gift shop, volunteer resale shop, book
sales and bake sales.
Tracey Shaw installed the incoming
auxiliary board of directors for 2007/08. This year’s board includes:
Caroline Todish, President, Mary Ann Williams, the President-Elect,
Donne Schulze, Treasurer and Emily Rowe, Historian. Dianne Williams
will serve as Secretary but was unable to attend the celebration.
The
2006-2007 Auxiliary Committee Chairs were also recognized for their
service: Monica Foyt -Gift Shop Chair, Judith Fulton & Emily Rowe -
Polly’s Pals, Jimmie Lou Gillen - Telephone Committee Chair, Wilma
Eppolito- Sunshine Cards Chair, Harriet Karnei - Membership Committee
Chair and Emily Rowe - Blood Drive Chair.
