OakBend Selected as the 2007 Outstanding Clinical Site

RICHMOND, TX
- (May, 14, 2007) - OakBend Medical Center has been selected as the
Outstanding Clinical Site for the Alvin Community College Respiratory
Care Program.
The
Outstanding Clinical Site award was determined the Respiratory Care
Program students who rotate through many healthcare facilities during
the clinical training portion of the program. Diane Flatland, Division
Chair for the Respiratory Care Program and Marby McKinney, Director of
Clinical Education from Alvin Community College, presented the award.

Alvin
Community College and OakBend Medical Center have been working together
for more than 20 years to provide the very best training and education
to students in the field of respiratory care.
The
Respiratory Care Practitioners at OakBend Medical Center provide care
to patients ranging from premature infants whose lungs are not yet
fully developed at birth, to elderly patients whose lungs may be
affected by one or more of the many types of lung diseases.
Frequently, Respiratory Care Practitioners are the front line
healthcare providers treating patients who find themselves in critical
or emergent medical situations. Often when a patient is in respiratory
crisis their next breath may depend on the Respiratory Care
Practitioner.
The
Respiratory Care Department at OakBend Medical Center also recently
received the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition designation from the
American Association For Respiratory Care for 2007. This is the third
time that OakBend Medical Center has received this designation.
OakBend
Medical Center is proud to recognize the outstanding group of dedicated
