OakBend Appoints Chief Medical Officer

Richmond, TEXAS - (November 1, 2007) - OakBend
Medical Center has announced the appointment of the first Chief Medical
Officer. Douglas A. Thibodeaux M.D., Obstetrician/ Gynecologist, will
join the hospital executive team, bringing the physician prospective to
the table.

Dr.
Thibodeaux earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch
in Galveston. He completed his residency at Detroit Memorial Hospital
before becoming board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Since
1964, Dr. Thibodeaux has been practicing obstetrics and gynecology in
the west Houston area. He joined the medical staff at OakBend five
years ago and has been an active participant in the physician
leadership since that time.
During
his 40 years he has delivered over 14,000 babies and received many
accolades, being named in the first edition of Best Doctors in America
for Obstetrics. He has been elected Chief of Staff by his peers at the
different oustonhospitals where he has practiced over the years. He has
always been driven to self-education, ensuring he is up-to-date with
the latest methods, medications and procedures. He also credits both
patients and nurses for educating him over the years and making him a
better doctor.
Dr.
Thibodeaux commented, “ I am honored to be asked to serve as Chief
Medical Officer at OakBend, it will certainly be a challenging role and
one which I am looking forward to fulfilling. I believe that I can
contribute to the executive team by giving a physician view of issues
and projects. I am excited too, about learning more regarding the
challenges of managing a first-class community hospital.”
