Patient Information

Admission to OakBend Medical Center can happen in various ways.

You, your family member, or friend may be treated in one of our Emergency Rooms (ER) and need additional treatment requiring a hospital stay.  Other times, you may know that you or someone will be staying in the hospital for at least one night.  This planned admission could be for elective (non-emergency) surgery, tests, or special procedures.

Whether it starts as an ER or as a planned admission, a hospital stay is often the first stage in a series of transitions, or moves to different health care settings. You and your family member will feel more prepared and perhaps less anxious when you know what to expect.

On admission to OakBend Medical Center, you will be given a Patient Information Handbook which gives details about your accommodations, healthcare team, pain management, quality of care, services, hospital billing and more.  If you would like to receive this handbook prior to admission, please contact our marketing department at 281-341-3023.
