“What’s Up Doc? 2012” was an amazing evening with over 475 community members and 50 OakBend physicians attending this exciting annual event, held at Safari Texas Ranch on Thursday, October 25th.

Guests entered to the fabulous sounds of Lamar High School’s jazz band and an amazing buffet of delicious hors dourves and cocktails from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. Some of OakBend’s sponsors also displayed information for guests to partake.

The doors opened to an amazing reception area at 7:30pm where guests were welcomed to a colorful room of large, glittery turning centerpieces and lights featuring the “What’s Up Doc?” logo.  Next to the center stage were two simultaneous power point displays featuring OakBend physicians and 20 plus year employees of OakBend Medical Center.

Emcee, Sherri Shulman led the guests through the night’s events as attendees were given a year in review. Chief Executive Officer, Joe Freudenberger presented attendees with a road map of all of the exciting things to expect for the future.

The evening was highlighted by a video encompassing the “Your Friends, Your Neighbors, Your Community...Caring For and About You” OakBend Medical Center theme.

Board member, Ron McCann graced the audience with his touching story of his granddaughter whose life was given a second chance because of one of OakBend’s Neonatologists, Joel Bonaparte, M.D.

To wrap things up, a deejay turned the energy up a notch with fun tunes to get everyone up and moving.

“What’s Up Doc? 2012” was a sure-fired success!
