 Jeff Council Installed as Chairman THT 2007-08 Board of Directors

RICHMOND,
TX - (September 27, 2007) - Jeff Council has been installed as the
chairman of the Texas Healthcare Trustees board at their annual meeting
in Austin on  August
2. Council is the president of the board of directors at OakBend
Medical Center. He has been a board member since 1982 and has helped
guide the planning, construction and public relations committees. An
insurance businessman for four decades, Council retired as the
president of NewFirst Insurance Services, Inc. He was elected Fort Bend
County Treasurer and took office in 2007. Council is past president of
the Rosenberg/ Richmond Chamber of Commerce and was voted Businessman
of the Year in 2005. He is a life director with the Fort Bend County
Fair Association having served some 24 years on the board of directors
including board president in 1996. He is also past president of the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Council.
The
Texas Healthcare Trustees is an affiliated organization of the
Austin-based Texas Hospital Association. THT members serve on the
governing boards of THA-member institutions. THT has approximately 470
hospital/health system governing boards representing more than 4,000
trustees.
