RICHMOND, TX
- (August, 28, 2007) - The Trustees of OakBend Medical Center today
announced that seven year hospital CEO, David Rowe, will be leaving his
position on October 19, to assume CEO duties for the Madison Memorial
Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho.
“While we are pleased for David and
his family with this announcement, we are sad to lose a proven leader,
a skilled executive and a dear friend. We compliment the citizens of
southern Idaho on their hiring of a very special Administrator. This
move represents a career full circle for David as he returns as CEO to
the very hospital where he held his first job in health care and where
wife Emily has her family roots. The entire OakBend family of
employees, physicians, volunteers and Trustees wish them well,” said
Jeff Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for OakBend Medical
Center. Mr. Council also announced that a Search Committee has already
been named and will begin immediately their work to assure a smooth
transition.
Council added, “David and his executive team have
managed well the rural to suburban changes in OakBend’s service area
and the population growth in Fort Bend County shows no signs of
slowing. While OakBend is unique as the county’s oldest hospital, it’s
also the county’s only accredited cancer center, only accredited stroke
center, only Level III trauma center with full-time air transport
capability and a premier team of family and specialty physicians that
are complemented by the finest of hospital employees. We enjoy
affiliations with the world class Methodist
Hospitals and have many other exciting announcements in our future. As
an excellent executive/employee team remains in place, we assure the
citizens of Fort Bend that we will be doing whatever it takes to
continue this long term record of excellence.”
